After watching last night's game lalu ako nanghinayang, kung eto agad yung squad na pinadala sa China nasa olympics na sana Gilas sana maka isa mamaya sa NZ, mas physical magalro NZ kesa sa France sana wag ma foul trouble si Blatche.

We had our chances. Pamatay yung 3268 dribble-step-back three ni Andray. Pati yung offensive foul.

I guess para itaas ang antas ng Pinoy Basketball eh to keep competing. And scout future prospects yung may height and speed. Asikasuhin na yung passports early on.

Sayang yung game pero wala, too many errors on offense and defense. We need more shooting too. Si parks parang naging mini Norwood, sayang lakas dumepensa pero medyo gun shy pa and walang confidence mag finish.
Galing nung Webster brothers and yung fotu.
Oh well, ganyan talaga. Gilas competed well and hopefully we still get full support of the Philippine basketball community moving forward.

Be positive kahit defeated...
Critics blaming the lack chemistry. Prefers Gilas 3.0 than 4.0.
If the problem is chemistry, then how about the every monday practice that didn't happened as scheduled?
Maraming absent lagi.

And we were only down by two, IIRC.

Sayang yung possession yeah, and he had that one more turnover where the defense loaded up. but you take the good with the bad with him and he was feeling it at that point so you give him a pass at times. We lack the playmaking ability especially when we are outmatched physically so sometimes we can't do anything but rely in blatche to make something happen.flipsflops wrote:Nasayangan lang ako doon sa possession. He worked hard in the second half though and gave us everything. For someone who was criticized as not wanting it enough in the nba, he's shown us that he wants to play for us and comes out there to battle.
I was more disappointed in our defensive lapses more than anything. Too many times we got beat due to miscommunication and lack of effort on back cuts. Oh well.

Rebuild gilas from scratch.
If hindi talaga pwede, hanap ng players and coaching staff who are willing NOT to enter pro. Sweldohan nalang sila ng Gilas sponsors.
Anyway...thank you RDO, Norwood, and Ping!
Shet, Castro said "siguro last ko na ito".

Yung isang 3pt shot by NZ tapos 3 Gilas players nakatingin lang. It was an eyesore.
I hate the Gilas Cadet rout. Kasi back to zero at malayo layo na naman ang world stage dream.
Andun na tayo sa FIBA worlds last time eh.
Being a regular FIBA worlds participant makes the national team better as a group and as players.
I don't think papayag uli ang PBA na maging 2 conference format. Profit-minded ang PBA along with team owners.
Although not all team owners. It was shown in the past na RoS and Alaska management ang very supportive in lending their best players.
Of course automatic na yung MVP teams. What's left is the SMC teams that always being ridiculed by the Gilas fanbase.
Alaska team owner Wilfred Uytengsu have a proposal for PBA and SBP. Let the best prospect (who are Gilas bound like Kiefer, Belo, Pogoy, Tolentino, etc.) enter the next draft (and not stop them by locking to the Gilas contract for 2-3 years before turning pro) play for mother teams but kelangan swelduhan sila ng Gilas like a minimum of 50k a month (and some perks).
PBA is where the country can get the best players for the National Team. Going back to the Gilas Cadet format kinda disappoints me.
Pero alam natin kung ano mga pinag-ugatang problema bakit SBP will go back to that recruiting program.
Anyway, I would like to ask something.
Pwede ba yung magkaroon ng tayo ng large pool for NT?
Like Gilas Team A vs Gilas Team B? Tapos pagkakitaan na lang ng MVP yung mga laban ng Team A vs Team B if they want profit.
Pwede rin Gilas vs Sinag kahit medjo lugi yung Sinag players. After like 5 local matches saka bubuo ng Final Gilas Team then join regular tournaments outside the country and some tune up games. Unlike yung kukuha lang ng top 20 sa listahan like ginawa last time.

It's just the politics is the root problem of the NT program. Habang nagpupulitikahan, after 1954 and after mid 1960's nag-iimprove na yung mga ibang bansa. Napag-iwanan lang tayo.
Pero I agree, at this level wala tayo choice kundi aasa tayo sa Fil-Am at Naturalized kasi kulang tayo height. Harapin na natin. Hindi kakayanin ng homegrown talent ang world stage at the level of competition meron ngayon. We could take some from Jacob's playbook though. I think one of the NT's strength is the organized chaos play style.

if hindi basura ang all pinoy team today then tingin mo mananalo sila sa korea, japan, china, and iran dito sa asia ng walang jayson castro william, norwood, slaughter, and parks? asian level oa lang yan and malaking dufference ang worlds.. iran and china nga din di makaisa sa mga powerhouse from europe and americas.. aasa lang tayo na madami pasanang ofws or japoks sa olongapo ang magpa jontis sa mga foreigner para may maharvest tayo sa near future.. we needmire filipina whores para maging competetive tayo sa basketball kasi again.. basura na ang mga pure blood pinoys pag international and world stage ang usapan..
