Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson

eto yung book 1 diyan :2thumbs:

as of now yan ang binabasa ko. nasa book 2 na ako (deadhouse gates). it's a fantasy novel minus Tolkien's Middle Earth. :2thumbs:
Hinde siya very similar sa aSoIaF, pero its the closest that I can think of. medyo ang focus lang nang MBotF ay sa magics, lores at warfare while ang aSoIaF eh more on Power Struggles and/or politics

Wow, thanks sa link sa fb page niya bro! :agree:

Naswertehan ko nga lang yung books niya sa A Different Bookstore sa Greenhills noon nung bukas pa, kumpleto sila at that time pero I didn't know anything about her books din. Pero nung binasa ko yung nasa cover, it got me interested kaya I risked buying all the books in the series in 1 go...buti na lang din kasi maganda pala and medyo mahirap hanapin yung books kasi hindi siya ganun ka popular na author satin. :2thumbs:

Yung ASoFaI more on politics talaga?

Maganda yung Camp Half-Blood. Although spin-off sya, more on sequel ang kinalabasan nya, story-wise. Kasi it continues to dun sa "The Last Olympian". And sa second Camp Half-blood series na "Son of Neptune", kasama na ulit si Percy sa bida. Well worth the read.

Also, plug-in ko na din to.

From the same author (Rick Riordan)

Maganda to kung curious kayo sa Egyptian mythology kasi before I read this, the ones I know of eh sila Ra from Yugioh and Isis, Osiris, Anubis from Ragnarok Online lol. Pero after, marami na ko kilala. Like Nepthys, Khnum, Ptah, Apophis and si Horus.

Oh. Maganda yung original series. Yung storytelling kasi ni Riordan, masyadong light-hearted and very simple. Sure na yung mga jargons in relation to Greek mythology will be properly explained in great clarity. Zero-based sya. And hindi boring kasi andaming comic relief involved.

just finished book 3! Fast read lang lalo na towards the end kasi fast paced and talagang di mo na mabibitawan once it picks up momentum. And sana talaga mabilis lang yung release ng 4th book, nakakabitin yung ending! :2thumbs:

awww... bitin yung ending?
Ah, well. Once I get my copy I might not be able to help myself. I'd prefer waiting until I complete the series pero when it comes to my favorite series (like Harry Poter and Artemis Fowl~ ) I read the book the minute I get home.

Can't wait to get my hands on this!

Haha..yup pero it was definitely a very good read! And the illustrations in the book are really nicely done kaya sulit talaga yung hardcover edition. :2thumbs:

Yung Uncharted na book naman, a bit slow to start kasi parang mas mystery novel siya but 50 pages into it and the "Uncharted" feel is starting to show na din naman.

Medyo OT pero regarding books and book stores. IMHO dapat talaga palitan na nang National Bookstore ang name nila
gawin na lang nilang National School Supplies! mga staff/crew walang alam sa tinitinda nilang books! :fight: :fight:

True that. XD
I guess they really should rename the store to NSS

If you have time to browse you can go to nbs but if you're looking for a specific book and you're in a hurry might as well go to fully booked or powerbooks. at least yung staff nila kahit papaano may alam sa book na hinahanap mo

Kakatapos ko lang kanina...surprisingly, the book picked up half way through. Ganda din ng back story on how Joe met Susan (his wife) and how they got to Haven. It still doesn't really cover as much info as how he offed Hale but its a really good prequel to R3. :agree:

Image

Also just finished with this...not much in terms of character dev here but the story was surprisingly good. With a little imagination while reading, para ka na din naglalaro. It also comes to a point where it becomes a real page turner and parang the story unfolds in such a hectic pace as the games. All in all, it gives that epic feeling you get from playing an Uncharted game and makes you wish na sana meron pa kasunod or na hindi pa tapos yung book. :agree:

Di ko sure satin locally eh..but your best bet is to frequent the fully booked stores. That or make use of services that let you order online nd have it shipped na lang.
