Pretty excited for this release, especially the xbox integration which allows you to use game dvr and capture screenshots.
I did. There are select DX11 games that improved performance. So far I've tried Sleeping Dogs (doubled the FPS), Arkham City (no more stuttering when panning the camera), Far Cry 3 (no sudden dip in FPS) and Battlefield 3 (noticeable FPS improvement). I also updated the driver of my AMD GPU to the latest Windows 10 build.

When it comes to the Xbox integration, from the games I played, Far Cry 3 supports it. If you press the WIN+G key, a small overlay of the Xbox app will show up allowing you to take pictures and even record (or perhaps stream, not yet tested) game play videos and some other things.

Sounds good. I'm currently downloading the latest nvidia drivers in preparation for the roll-out, i haven't gotten my windows 10 download notification yet, but I'm also doing research on whether I should upgrade now or wait if windows 10 proves to be unstable.

Aside from gaming, is everything else working fine on your end (My gaming laptop also happens to be my work laptop, so I can't risk things conking out for me)?

I don't have any big problems. Booting is a bit slower than Windows 8.1 but the OS is running smoothly. I miss the snappiness of Windows 8.1.

The new Internet browser, Edge, currently does not support extensions. I don't use extensions that much but I lost the Lastpass integration. So far that's my only negative but I'm sure Lastpass will provide an update soon.

None of my programs stopped working. The media center was removed though and was replaced by a software DVD player. There are some apps that cannot be removed such as Calendar and Mail which I successfully removed when I was using Windows 8.1. I find them redundant since I already have Outlook 2013 though a 365 subscription.

So far I'm still experiencing a bit of duality between a regular desktop OS and this being a tablet OS which annoyed me in Windows 8.1. There's this settings window but there is also the old control panel.

So far for gaming, Windows 10 is good but I miss the snappiness of Windows 8.1.

Thanks for the input! Very helpful! :2thumbs:

If you want to force update yourself you can use the microsoft media creation tool.

hindi na raw optional ang windows updates sa 10, automatic download na raw yun... tbh, i'll stick with my 8.1 muna, it's not like its gonna be phased out anytime soon anyway... but of course, this is just me.

to those who are on the fence on updating, i would highly recommend to read this review muna before making up your mind:

updated mine already. 3x akong nag-download kasi 2 beses akong nag-reset. dapat hintayin ma-complete until installation nang walang interruption.

nag-try na nga ako maglaro ng league of legengds. ok naman.

That's because people are force updating the OS using a tool designed for a different language pack. Set your language to English-United States if you want to force update it instead of through update tool.

Yeah. It's quite disappointing though I didn't say it's slow. Just a bit not faster than Windows 8.1 and not as snappy. By the way, my PC is very old. This doesn't even have UEFI so it's not a good basis of how fast or slow this OS really is. Still, I'm satisfied with the improvements especially with gaming. I'm also glad that my AMD GPU supports DirectX 12 for being GCN compatible.

or install 8.1 on a new partition and install 10 from there

I take back what I said about Windows 10 being less snappy. For some reason, it is snappier now. WTF just happened?! Everything feels better. Boot time is still slower though.

the browser doesn't have a Save As dialog for downloading files , it just lumps them all in the Download folder :banghead:

You can change the location of the downloads folder where downloads go to. Right click on the downloads folder and choose properties. Select the location tab. There you will be able to change the location.

Good luck! To be safe, change your language to english-United States.

sa mga nakapag install na, were all your programs intact especially the drivers? or need to really do a clean install talaga?

Thanks! Everything went by smoothly! Didn't have to update my drivers or anything aside from the update I received from GeForce Experience yesterday. So far so good, I'm using edge right now, and it's pretty snappy so far. Liking it over Internet Explorer.

All my files, preferences, apps, are all in tact din. So far, it's been a hassle free upgrade.
