External HD: Portable USB powered or w/ AC power adapter?

hey guys tanong lang kung ano mas ok pag dating sa tibay ng mga external drives..
mas ok ba yung malalaki na may power adapter or yung mga portable na usb powered/plug n play?
gagamitin ko kasi as backup for my work files kaya need ko yung mas matibay at mas matagal life span.

Mas ok for me, 2.5 ng wd tapos meron nabibili na enclosure. 1gb 2.5 wd i got for P3500, tapos 500 for the wd case. Great for portable backup transfer. Kung gusto mo yung malaki pwede din pero mas mahirap dalhin pero biggest size is 4tb. DI pwede ang portable drive pang backup talaga. Dapat pang dala lang siya to take home para backup sa ibang drive.

Ang sabi sakin mas maganda iyun may external power source.

Pag USB powered kasi, hati siya between transferring files and powering the unit. Iyung external powered, naka focus talaga sa transferring of files.

I have two, one external powered and one USB powered. Iyun external powered nasa bahay lang, and I bring the USB powered one with me for portability

Well maganda sa 3.5 is mas mura siya tapos mas malaki capacity (up to 4tb) pero cons is mabigat at may adapter pa aside from the usb cable. 2.5 very light capacity up to 2tb pero mas mahal. Dati nagdadala ako at work na 3.5 na ginamit ko for editing noong na station ako sa stand alone machine.
