Sony: PSN games won't transfer to the PS4, nor will your game saves

It's the morning after the night before, and Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has just confirmed to us that current-generation PSN titles won't transfer across to the PlayStation 4. The company admitted last night that PS3 games wouldn't be compatible with the latest console, but has added that it will try to make titles playable "in some form." Because the architecture of the Power-PC-based PS3 and x86-based PlayStation 4 are so different, Sony will only bring across games that don't guzzle the latest console's power in emulation. The executive also said that the company aims to offer server-side and cloud services to offer a wider library of older games, but said that's one for the "longer term."

Will probably wait a year before ako bumili. And hindi pa ako maniniwala na in game yung mga pinakitang vids until they really show gameplay vids na talaga. Remember the motorstorm and killzone target render vids? Not saying that the final versions looks bad ha. And besides nung inaanounce ang ps3 before i believe Sony overcommitted.

the vids are in game but not necessarily gameplay vids, not target render vids, it has been confirmed, deep down is most likely a tech demo though but its running in the PS4 in real time

Depende kung bibili ako ng PS4 ... kung $400 ang price baka mapabili ako. Kung $500 wait muna ako ng 1 year.

Early adopters kasi ako noong PS1 binili ko agad after 3 months palang sa market, then iyong PS2 & PS3 sa launched day mismo ako bumili ... grabe ang haba ng pila parang 26 - 28 hrs din iyong pinila ko kung isasama ko sa bilang iyong waiting time to go to the cashier counter... worth it naman.

Ngayon iba na tactics ko kung puwedeng mag-preorder kukunin ko na lang kinabukasan sa gamestop or kaya papa-ship ko sa Amazon. Exciting kasi pumila daming mga goodies nakukuha at libreng pakain pag mismong sa SONY Store ka pumipila.

ang remedy is emulation and cloud gaming, hindi palang nila inelaborate to what extent..

personally, i dont mind that it's not backwards compatible, kasi kakabili ko lang ulit ng ps3 nung dec, sayang kung di ko na agad gagamitin after 1 year.. namatay na kasi yung first ko.. pero siguro if my first one didnt die on me, i'd be pissed that the ps4 wont be backwards compatible..
lahat daw ng psn library natin, di gagana sa 4..

just buy another ps3, sigurado mura na ps3 after ps4 matures, you won't wear out your precious ps4 pa in playing old ps3 games

i think main reasons sony released the super slim is to get the costs down and combat piracy at the same time. dont be surprised a couple of years after ps4 released, ps3 nasa $150 nalang

I don't mind the lack of backwards compatibility, may ps3 parin naman ako kahit na magka ps4 ako, no plans to sell my ps3 kaya ok lang sakin

it will be over 30k on initial stocks, the cheaper wii u deluxe at $350 was 30k on release here

diko nga maintindihan sa ibang tao at sa ibang comments site or forum kung ba't gustong gusto nilang may backward compatibility.

eh halos lahat naman siguro ng bibile ng ps4 ay dumaan muna sa ps3 di ba? eh saka sa ganda ng ps3 hinde basta basta mawawala yan. kung si tatay ps2 nga kaka lisan lang yata last year eh. eh halos may edad na din si ps3 nun.

paulet ulet mga dahilan ng iba na di sila bibile ng ps4 or xbox 720 as if naman kaya nilang gawin yun na hinde sila bumile, kesyo walang pre owned games, walang backward compatibility ek ek.
