Sony staff demoed a handful of upcoming first-party NGP titles, including Uncharted, Little Deviants and WipEout. The source said the latter was "the WipEout HD PS3 engine running on PS3 with no changes to the art platform. That means full resolution, full 60 frames per second. It looks exactly the same as it does on PS3 – all the shader effects are in there".

woah Wipeout has cross platform play with the PS3 as well
Wipeout titles need to be fast, smooth, and beautiful. The NGP version is all three of these things. During my time with the game I was challenged to play without the analog sticks, using only the motion controls. It took me a lap or so to get used to, but after that I was tilting the system left and right like a champ. The motion controls were accurate, fun, and best of all, optional.
A PlayStation 3 was set up with the console version of the game, and the ability to race against people on the PlayStation 3 with the NGP was shown off to the press. It's a neat feature, and using the portable version to compete on the PlayStation Network with people playing on the PlayStation 3 is cool.
So far the NGP version of Wipeout isn't breaking any new ground, but who cares? The game takes place in a time much closer to ours, so the tracks look a little less futuristic, while still being fantastical and rather gut-churning. This is a game I played for more than a few sessions, and I wanted to walk out with a copy to play when I got home. That's a good demo right there.
Sony Japan announced that Wipeout 2048 will be getting a demo on January 17th. This is a whole two days prior to the games actual release in Japan, but more than enough to get a feel of what to expect. Sadly Sony was light on details, though the demo will surely feature enough to gauge your enjoyment.
A while back it seemed like everyone had zombie fever. We had several zombie games and too many games featuring them. While not every game called them zombies, but they were close enough that we thought of them. In an unlikely twist they apparently are also a problem in 2048, though in all seriousness it’s not as bad as it sounds.
Zombie mode was a odd name for a survival mode. Here you would try to last as long as possible, while more enemies try to take you down. Apparently the longer you last would also result in bigger zombie ships. This definitely sounds like an interesting mode, but it got the axe due to time constants. Don’t worry too much as it may reappear as DLC down the road.
