They're legit and service is great. Listen Up! in Glorietta is owned by the same guys as The Listening Room, same prices stocks etc. :)

Technically speaking, if your source (phone/pc/dap) can drive it properly then you don't "need" one. :) Most players/phones have an output of around 70 something ohms. Which is enough to drive most earbuds. So to find out google your earbuds and check for the impedance. :)

Some people though still choose to use an amp even though its not needed per-se, this is just because of preference. So to as with all audiophile related stuff.. trust your own ears :) try to audition some amps and see if you can actually hear a difference, if you can and you like it then you need/want one :)

The PX100-II is pretty durable :) I bought my dad one almost a year ago and its still kicking. Watch out for the pads though on the white units, I've seen them turn yellow after some years.

Hello po! As a student, shempre I'm putting a leash on my wallet. I don't want to splurge to much on a pair of headphones. I'm thinking about getting the sony mdr zx300 are they decent enough? Thanks!

Ah yes Egghead :) I like that store (even though I've only been there once). Congrats on your purchase sir and +1 for trusting your own ears. As we say "trust only your own ears". Just a quick question did you find the Px-100 II a bit.. "boring" sounding? kaya you didn't like it as much?

I've auditioned a pair of these for about 30 mins and I wasn't too impressed with it. The bass was a bit too much for me, but it may be exactly what you want from it. Give it a listen for yourself, if you're listening to techno, hiphop, house, etc I think it'll be okay but for acoustic, rock, jazz etc. I wouldn't recommend it. :)
