Impressions are up! Will update the post to include impressions throughout the day. It looks promising, definitely not a 2014 release according to Sony too.
We'll have more on Sony's virtual reality headset soon, including more detailed thoughts on how Project Morpheus compares with the new Oculus Rift headset. The bottom line, for now: Video game VR is here and it's no joke, and what Sony's got so far seems promising.

Who says they are not though? They already said last year that there were 30 first party games already being worked on. 20 for the first year, and 12 new IPs.
I for one welcome new ways in which we experience video games as a medium. Too many people complain about next gen consoles being all about graphics and not focusing on innovation. This is as innovative as can be.
Morpheus? Maybe it has something to do the "matrix" character.. It makes sense. Blue Pill or Red Pill. Real World or the Virtual Reality.

Just announced at GDC
Key details on morpheus:
- OLED Display
- 1920x1080 pixels with RGB subpixels to reduce motion blur
- Morpheus is designed to render at 120 frames-per-second, within the capabilities of the PlayStation 4
- There is also an option to render at 60 frames-per-second, but reach the 120 FPS target using a technique called "re-projection"
- Re-projection uses sensor data to create an in-between frame to boost the rate from 60 to 120.
- Sony says latency, a key factor for smooth virtual reality displays, is sub-18 millisecond
- Screen size is 5.7 inches, with a 100 degree field of view
- Sony has added three more tracking LEDs from the unit it unveiled at GDC last year, bringing the number from six to nine
- The design has been tweaked and rebalanced to put more of the weight on top of the head for comfort

I'm really interested in VR, but hopefully the headset itself is not too expensive.
And hopefully the headset, camera and move bundle will be affordable. I don't know if I'll be in day 1 (depending on the price of course and compelling software) but I'll definitely get myself one of these somewhere down the line.

It's the perfect game for Morpheus IMO. That would melt faces.

Monstrous Puzzle Game GNOG Launching on PS4 and Morpheus in 2016

We’re proud to announce that GNOG is launching on PS4 and Project Morpheus next year.
GNOG is a (we like to think) special kind of puzzle-adventure game with a focus on discovery and wonder in a universe made up of monster heads. Each monster has its own personality, and a micro-world on its opposite side — you flip back and forth between these two sides, interacting with both and watching how they react.
Some details for Sony’s upcoming Project Morpheus headset have leaked online.
As of this writing, this listing for the headset is no longer live. The headset was priced at 399 euros, or roughly $ 450, and projects a Q2 2016 release date.
I'm sold on vr but I'm going to wait and see what the support is going to be like. That's some serious coin, and its going to be hard to justify early adoption if there are not enough legit gaming experiences to justify the purchase.
Also, that price is ridiculous considering you will still have to buy a move controller and the camera.
It could very well be and nothing more to this than just a rumor, but it still doesn't change my opinion of it. It can be 200 dollars and what I said still applies.
I'm increasingly skeptical of purchasing peripherals especially after last gen.

Priced as a "New Gaming Platform" daw. Not as an accessory.
