Did you read the book? I would recommend you read it if you haven't but I'm afraid the movie has completely ruined the book for those who have seen the movie.

nope i didnt. I just happen to learn about the movie first before discovering about its book counterpart. If the movie disappointed me, then i dont see any point going for the book.

It's one of the best sci-fi novels of all time. I'm not sure what the purpose of the movie is, but the book was completely different, that's why it sucked. I think I can't convey the difference.

Have you seen the jap horror movie Ring, the book is completely different that you'll be surprise whether you've seen the movie or not. It's one of those instances that both book and movie are awesome. The Ender book was so incredible that It left me asking where it has been all my life and why I'm reading this just now. It's that good.

Reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I'm about half way done.

I've picked up and dropped a few books before this. Iba talaga si Stephen King, he knows how to pick up the reader's interest from the first chapter pa lang, yung mga tinigil ko basahin eh kinda boring kasi yung first 10 chapters. Yung parang they try to be artistic but it ended up boring.

But not SK, he goes directly to the point but never dull. And he does have a knack for melding Sci-fi and supernatural into one hard to put down story. The one criticism I have of SK is that he tends to ramble for a page or two sometimes, but either I have matured enough or wala talaga this time. Great read.

hindi talaga kaya ng mata ko ang magbasa ng matagal sa mga digital screens kahit na naka ilang computer glasses na ako like Gunnars. napupuwersa ako bumili ng mga hard copy ng mga books.

bought yesterday:

The Richest Man in Babylon

and

Quiet by Susan Cain.

^Kindle gamit ko, regalo ng misis ko 5 years ago. Yes, you should try it. No glare, feels like reading paper.

Read Quiet a few years ago. Honestly, don't remember much of it other than the "You get me" feeling.

Sarap pa hawakan using one hand kasi may buttons sa magkabilang side ng unit for flipping pages.

Ang kindle na nagamit ko is yung pinaka mura pala. Hindi ko pa nasubukan yung mga latest sa lineup ng amazon.

Yung latest Kindle eh yung battery lasts for months, at least yun sabi, yung sa akin eh 1 month ang battery life, lumang version kasi. So it's a gadget na low maintenance. There's also the Kobo reader. I think mas flexible yung file format and yun ang flagship e-reader ng National Bookstore. You can go to any NBS to check it out in person para you can feel if pwede sayo mga e-readers.

Finished read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Very good story. I Googled after reading and apparently, ginagawan ng movie etong book na to with Spielberg as the director.

For me, if the movie is done correctly, it could have the potential of being the sci-fi version of LOTR. It could be the modern (and geeky version) of LOTR. It's a good young adult sci-fi novel that filled with geekdom; retro videogames, Geek movies, 80's nostalgia music, Anime, and everything under the nerd sun. It's a must read for any PPS regular.
