if you are using the MGO game that comes in the R1 copy of MGS, you are automatically connected to North American hosts. unless they have done something about it, you will experience lag, and sometimes be branded by other players as a glitcher.

which is why most of the guys who were playing this before opted to get the MGO J-region game. since japan is closer to the philippines, lag isnt much of an issue.

kelangan may copy ka ng mgs4 na r2 (japan) in order for you to play in jp server, meron sa play-asia.com nung copy kaya thru shipping order lang sya, most of our copies here kasi puro r3 and r1 lang which connects only to NA server, bihira yung jap version , pero few of us @ = s o p = may jap copy, kaya swerte narin ...

as tinjastin said, you need a mgs4 r2 version, or there is also a stand-alone MGO r2. i think this is cheaper coz it doesnt have the mgs4 game on the disc, only the MP. you can try looking for the old MGO players in the MGO thread in the clan zone section. they might want to sell their r2 copies.

unforunately, you cant use PSN cards for the expansions. you need a credit card from a Konami-approved country (eg. HK, singapore, US, etc.), and the IP address used to buy the expansion must match the credit card's country. at least this was the case before when i was playing MGO. i lost interest in this game because of the hassle of getting the expansions.

if i recall correctly, the old = S O P = guys went thru cobra command3r for their expansion packs. not sure if he is still active, though...

Metal Gear Online service to end on June 12th, 2012

"METAL GEAR ONLINE" was included with "METAL GEAR SOLID 4" and launched on June 12th 2008.
However, we regret to announce that online service will draw to a close on June 12th 2012 after four years of service.

Thank you to everyone for your loyal support of METAL GEAR ONLINE.

Please refer to the schedule below for a list of key events leading up to final service termination on June 12th 2012:

- Closure of MGO Online Shop.

- Expansion packs and Preset Codec Message Appeal Packs will be available for free download.
*Note: Registration for new player characters will not be available during this time.

* With the exception of "non-sale" items.
