Namco recently announced the development of 4 new RPGs in their "Tales of..." series. First up is Tales of Legendia for the Gamecube, which is the sequel to Tales of Symphonia. The game will continue to use the Multi-Linear Battle System, full 3D graphics, and new GBA connectivity features. Another Tales game will be developed for the GBA later in the year.
For the PlayStation, there's Tales of Truthia for the PS2; this is the sequel to Tales of Eternia. The game will use the traditional 2D Linear Battle system. There's also a fan disc called Tales of Phantom 2 being developed for PSOne.
The bad news? All of these are surefire Japan releases, but as of now are in "wait and see" mode for a USA release. Namco USA doesn't really seem to care about its RPGs--Tales of Destiny 2 for the PS2 remains a Japan-only release, and even Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube has been delayed yet again to beyond the 2nd Qtr of 2004.
Expect more news when E3 rolls around...
