My first impressions...

Image

Having sank a couple of hours into the game (Eevee version), I am now on the part where I just defeated Brock. So far I am enjoying it, but I guess it depends on how hardcore of a "gen wunner" you are. Some of you might be turned-off with the way you level up (catching wild Pokemons instead of battling them). If that's the case then waiting for the late 2019 version might be the best thing to do. And yes, as you probaly already read / watched from different sources, the game is on the easy side. On the plus side, at least this can be a good introductory Pokemon game for your little ones. But so far, I'm just glad I don't have to play on the 3DS' low-res screens! And the remixed musics are pretty good too.

The Poke Ball Plus, well. It feels solid enough and doesn't feel like it's made from cheap plastic. The problem for me is that when you're navigating the menus, pressing the stick requires a bit more pressure compared to just using the Joy-Con buttons. Catching wild 'Mons by doing a "throwing / flinging"-like motion can get a bit tiresome (and problably a bit boring once the novelty wears-off). And you can easily miss the top button on the Poke Ball Plus if you're going to access the menus. You won't be missing much without the ball. Aside from Mew that is, but there is always the chance it gets distributed thru wifi / codes thru events. Oh and I haven't tried doing that "stroll mode" or whatever Game Freak calls it. LOLZ.

So yeah, I'll mostly likely be playing this game in handheld mode more often. Also, just maybe, I'll try that "stroll mode" wih the Poke Ball Plus if I can be bothered with it. :-P

Mukhang maganda rin. Reminds me of Contra (for SNES) :) According sa Gematsu, early 2019 daw ang labas.
