I fixed the slow boot up. For some reason, the fast boot up in the power options was disabled when I upgraded. I may have disabled hibernation mode.

I also upgraded my wife's Vaio from Windows 7. I'm surprised that even the bloatware that came with it is still working in Windows 10 and is running better.

only a few niggles are left, but I'd say W10 is worth the upgrade, I had to reboot my main PC a few times though, when it first started , all my icons in the taskbar disappeared

It was revealed months before the official release that unlicensed windows products won't be upgraded to Windows 10 for free.

Windows 10 isn't perfect — but it's time to let go of Windows 7

LOLZ, I'm still rockin' on Windows 7 on my home PC here. But eventually when I build my next PC, most likely I have to move to Win10. No choice na since wala nang mobo drivers for old OSes. Except for Ryzen boards.

Cool!

^^^ He he... Yep. One thing to note though. To properly install Windows 7 on a Ryzen-based board, you may need to use PS/2 campatible keyboard and preferably with PS/2 mouse kung hindi kayo sanay mag navigate using the keyboard.

Not sure on that though.

Hindi yata matapos-tapos ang issues sa Windows 10. :-P

Say Hello to Yet Another Windows 10 Issue… Microsoft May Just Have Broken File Associations with a Buggy Update
nother week, another Windows 10 bug to report. The re-release of the October 2018 Update (or what should now be called a November Update) is yet to begin, but it appears Microsoft is dealing with a growing number of problems that are plaguing older versions, as well. The company is having a hard time dealing with Windows 10 bugs lately, and there is a fresh headache to add to that growing list of issues.

New reports suggest that the entire file association system is messed up after a cumulative update was sent out last month. Apparently, the operating doesn’t let you select certain applications as your default options. The issue was tested by the folks at HTG who report that after testing the issue on multiple machines running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, they can confirm that every PC has this problem.

“It affects some applications, but not others,” the publication reported. “For example, Windows 10 won’t let you make Adobe Photoshop or Notepad++ a default application for images or text files. But you can make other applications, like IrfanView, VLC, or Google Chrome, your defaults.”
