Do you also play with non-PlayStation devices? Do you enjoy playing as a plumber saving a princess? Or some bald marines? Or maybe you want to play using the touchscreen?

Crysis 3 Isn't Coming to Wii U
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/0 ... g_to_wii_u

There's been conflicting information about Crytek's Wii U ambitions for a while, particularly in regards to Crysis 3. The latest word is no: at this time, there aren't any plans to put a version of Crysis 3 on Wii U.

Over the last couple of months we've heard that, despite CryEngine 3 running "beautifully" on Wii U, there was no chance of Crysis 3 coming to the system. This stance seemed to brighten slightly when a port was said to be "a possibility", but we're now back to a negative response.

Crytek general manager Nick Button-Brown posted on Twitter that Crysis 3 is "not currently" coming to Wii U.

Just to answer the speculation, we are not currently working on a wiiU [sic] version of #Crysis3.

There's still room in that statement to wish for a version of the game on the console in the future, but for now the answer seems quite clear: there won't be a version of Crysis 3 on Wii U. Best not to keep those hopes up.

Capcom has “some good stuff” coming to Wii U
Despite no official Capcom Wii U games yet, the publisher says they'll have a surprise for us soon.
http://wiiudaily.com/2012/08/capcom-has ... -to-wii-u/

Capcom, the publisher of the Resident Evil series, hasn’t so far shown any big support for the Wii U. In fact, the company has yet to announce a single Wii U game. That might change soon, as the company recently revealed that they have “some good stuff” coming to the Wii U, with announcements coming soon. Last year, Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata said that he’d love to see Resident Evil on the Wii U.

Image
And we might have a reason to get our hopes up. Capcom replied to questions on the official Capcom forums, where users asked about the lack of Wii U support. Capcom’s Vice President dropped by on the forums, saying, “Some good stuff is coming and I’d love to tell you more… but for now, I have to keep it a surprise“. So far, so good.

Capcom has shown great support for the Nintendo 3DS, bringing Resident Evil and Street Fighter to the portable. Some of the Capcom titles that could be well suited for the Wii U include Resident Evil, Lost Planet, and Dead Rising. Hopefully we’ll see some of those games on the Wii U soon. Capcom is currently developing Resident Evil 6 for several platforms.

Ubisoft: Leaked Wii U box art is real
"It's too legit to quit," says Ubi rep.

Ubisoft has confirmed yesterday’s leaked Wii U box art to be authentic.
Responding to GameTrailers, Ubisoft’s Michael Beadle said, “Why yes, the Wii U box art you sent is legit; in fact, it’s too legit to quit.”

There you have it. There’s no greater “legit” than that.

Rumor: Wii U to launch before Thanksgiving in U.S., December in Europe
Manufacturing is the issue in Europe, says source.
http://gematsu.com/2012/08/rumor-wii-u- ... -in-europe

Wii U will not release in Europe until December, a month ahead of Nintendo’s intended November launch, according to a CVG source.

The reason, said the source, has something to do with manufacturing the Wii U GamePad.

In the U.S., however, the source said Nintendo is determined to launch Wii U before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Nintendo has yet to announce an official launch date.

Look’s Like Level-5′s Guild 01 Is Heading Overseas
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/08/13/lo ... -overseas/

Image
Level-5 International America is in the process of localizing Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and perhaps Guild 01 too.

Level-5 filed trademarks for Crimson Shroud and Liberation Maiden in the United States. Both of these are games inside Guild 01 and Liberation Maiden is a direct translation of the title for Suda51′s 3DS shooter. Guild 01 also has games made by SimTower creator Yoot Saito and a weapon shop management sim designed by a Japanese comedian.

Rumor: Wii U achievements called “Accomplishments”
How many accomplishments do you have?
http://gematsu.com/2012/08/rumor-wii-u- ... plishments

Wii U will have an achievements/trophies system, that’s confirmed. What’s not confirmed is the system’s name.

Well, according to a design document (dated back to May) from Project Cars, an upcoming game for the platform, it’s called “Accomplishments.”

Image

“The following Xbox 360 Achievements, PlayStation Trophies, and Wii U Accomplishments are available in Project Cars and total 1000 Gamerscore/1050 Trophy Points,” reads the document.

Accomplishments. How does the name sound to you?

Miiverse Is Meant To Be A Social Network For The Wii U and 3DS
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/08/23/mi ... u-and-3ds/
Image

Nintendo’s online Miiverse service, which is in development for the Wii U (and eventually the Nintendo 3DS), has two goals. The first, as shared by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, earlier this year, is to increase game sales.

Miiverse will not be a service for which you’ll have to pay a subscription fee. Instead, Nintendo feel that Miiverse will increase revenue in a different way—by allowing users to recommend games to one another, and thus, increasing their exposure among the Wii U userbase.

“In short, we expect that online services will contribute to our profits in the form of increasing the number of games to be sold for one platform,” Iwata stated at an investor Q&A back in June.

The other goal, Iwata tells Kotaku, is to allow Wii U users to feel like they aren’t alone, and that they have someone to keep them company, even if they aren’t playing a multiplayer game. Iwata wants to create an “empathy” among players, where people can share their game experiences, tips and stories with one another, just as we once did on the playground with friends, and now do via social-networking services like Twitter or Facebook.

“Of course we’re going to have that service of head-to-head [multiplayer, when you are] on at the same time playing games against each other,” Iwata says, “but what we really want to do is create a place where folks who are playing by themselves will not feel like they are playing by themselves. They’ll be able to share those experiences and have that empathy that we mentioned earlier.”

Due to this, Miiverse is being designed as a social network of sorts to facilitate this kind of communication on the Wii U, and will also be brought to the Nintendo 3DS at some point. However, the service will be accessible not just through Nintendo consoles, but also via the PC and phones, as it is largely browser-based.

Nintendo are on to something with Miiverse. The idea of asynchronous multiplayer or communication that doesn’t directly involve teaming up or fighting with someone else is catching on with a lot of developers, both in the console and mobile space. Dark Souls is one recent prominent example of this.

Honga e. Ewan ko kung ano naisip ng Nintendo bakit nag-region lock pa sila ng handheld. Hindi pala siyang pwede sa mga travellers kasi hindi sila makakabili ng game sa ibang bansa dahil hindi naman pala gagana. :banghead: :banghead:

New Professor Layton Game For 3DS Is Layton’s Final Game
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/08/29/ne ... inal-game/

Level-5 CEO Akihiko Hino announced a new Professor Layton title for Nintendo 3DS during Nintendo Direct. Professor Layton and the Legacy of the Super Civilization A is slated for release in 2013.

Hino said this Professor Layton title will be Layton’s final adventure. The game will have new kinds of puzzles and it looks like these are more visual than other Professor Layton titles.

Nintendo of America will release Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask in North America this year.

How Powerful is the Wii U Really?
And why, for many developers, it doesn't matter.
The Wii U's true power has been shrouded in mystery ever since it was announced, with developers working on launch titles gagged by strict non-disclosure agreements and ever shifting development kits. Now, though, as we near launch, final kits are in the wild. And, crucially, developers Eurogamer spoke to as part of a wide-ranging investigation into the innards of the Wii U now have final specifications.

Here's what they told us.

The CPU: The Wii U's IBM-made CPU is made up of three Power PC cores. We've been unable to ascertain the clock speed of the CPU (more on this later), but we know out of order execution is supported.

RAM in the final retail unit: 1GB of RAM is available to games.

GPU: The Wii U's graphics processing unit is a custom AMD 7 series GPU. Clock speed and pipelines were not disclosed, but we do know it supports DirectX 10 and shader 4 type features. We also know that eDRAM is embedded in the GPU custom chip in a similar way to the Wii.

"It's comparable to the current generation and a bit more powerful than that."
