The Deluxe set will have 32GB of internal memory and includes everything in the Basic configuration, plus a GamePad charging cradle, a stand for the GamePad and a stand for the console itself, plus a copy of Nintendo Land .The Deluxe set will also enroll purchasers in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, which offers points for every digital download you purchase. **Nintendo said Wii U can be connected with a 3TB hard drive, despite it only comes with 8GB or 32GB internal flash memory.

**Nintendo said there won't be any NFC (Near Field Communication) support for launch games, including Skylanders Giants and Rayman Legends. The reason NFC was dropped from Skylanders Giants is that it limits the function of the GamePad as you need to put the Skylander figure on the pad.

**Nintendo confirmed that the Wii U GamePads will not be sold separately in stores in North America, those who want to get a second GamePad can order it through customer service from Nintendo.

**Nintendo mentioned that Wii, WiiWare and Virtual Console titles are not compatible with Wii U GamePad.

**Nintendo said they will continue to support Wii alsong with Wii U, as they still see many opportunities for the old console.

**Wii U will launch with 9 titles in Japan, including New Super Mario Bros. U, NintendoLand, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, Musou Orochi 2 Hyper, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition, ZombiU, Assassin's Creed III, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition and Monster Hunter 3G HD Ver.

**After the Wii U launch, 4 titles has been confirmed in Japan for the month of December, including Mass Effect 3 Special Edition, FIFA 13, Sangokushi XII (Romance of Three Kingdoms XII) and Sports Connection.

**Nintendo will launch the Wii U in Japan on Dec 8, in North America on Nov 18 and in Europe on Nov 30. The Wii U will have full HD 1080p graphics, GPGPU graphics processor, 2GB of memory (1GB for game and 1GB for system). The game discs are 25GB. The prices are as follow:

The Wii U Deluxe Model (32GB) will come with Wii U GamePad, AC Adapter, HDMI cable, sensor bar, cradle, GamePad Stand and a copy of NintendoLand. Nintendo's first party launch titles are New Super Mario Bros. U and NintendoLand. Wii U is backward compatible with Virtual Console and WiiWare titles.

Nintendo will also launch a new TV service called Nintendo TVii, which allows players to find, watch and engage with TV, movies and sports. Initially you can access Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video and Tvio and Nintendo's Social Hub Miiverse.

Wii U games using dual-Gamepads will launch “sometime next year,” says Nintendo
http://www.vg247.com/2012/09/15/wii-u-g ... -nintendo/

Wii U will have games which use dual-Gamepads “sometime next year,” NoA has told 1UP. GamePads won’t be sold separately in the US at launch, as in Japan, due to the fact it may cause confusion among consumers since there aren’t any games require two at the moment. “The launch window is all going to be single-GamePad. The dual-GamePad functionality, we expect to start seeing that in games sometime next year,” Bill Trinen said. “Our feeling is, we’re not going to sell another GamePad if you don’t have something to use it with. We’ll make that available as an additional accessory when there’s content to support it.” Until then, co-op and multiplayer games can be played using a WiiMote and Nunchuck. Wii U launches in November in the US and Europe.

Capcom has more in store for the Wii U
It won't end with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/36 ... the-wii-u/
Capcom's consumer software senior vice president Christian Svensson has hinted at more Wii U projects from Capcom on the company's message board.

Image
Capcom announced Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the 3DS and Wii U last week, and now we can be prepared for more Capcom titles coming to the Wii U.

IGN noticed a post on the Capcom message board from consumer software vice president Christian Svensson, who said:

"I have to be careful what I say here as it will surely be overanalyzed and misinterpreted to be more than what I'm saying.

"We have other projects in the works beyond MH3 Ultimate. Unfortunately at this time I can not provide any details. I'm sure as someone who is interested in Wii U and a Capcom-Unity.com member, you won't be able to miss news of future projects when they finally do get announced."

Sven - as he is known on the forum - has left it pretty open ended, leaving us to speculate whether Capcom is working on a new IP for the console, or ports of other games. Whatever Sven is referring to, that post has definitely sparked intrigue as to what Capcom is working on for the Wii U, and we will keep you updated as we find out more.

Wii U Less Powerful Than Xbox 360, Playstation 3, says Tecmo Koei
Tecmo Koei’s Akihiro Suzuki about Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, and their experience working with the Wii U. Suzuki reveals there were issues in getting Warriors Orochi 3 to deliver an experience similar to their other successful franchise, the Dynasty Warriors series:

“One of the weaknesses of the Wii U compared to PS3 and Xbox 360 is the CPU power is a little bit less. So for games in the Warriors series, including Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi, when you have a lot of enemies coming at you at once, the performance tends to be affected because of the CPU. Dealing with that is a challenge.”

Suzuki, however, says that while there were challenges in developing for the new platform, he acknowledges that the Wii U is capable of delivering amazing graphics and it allowed them to create visuals that are superior to the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360:

“Developing on new hardware in itself was a challenge, and also making that launch date was a challenge. But from a visual standpoint, based on the performance of the Wii U, we knew the game had the capability of having much better graphics than games on PS3 and Xbox 360. Make no mistake, from a visual standpoint, it is able to produce better graphics. So our challenge was to make a higher quality graphics. We were able to meet that.”

PlatinumGames Interested In Nintendo 3DS Development
Image
PlatinumGames are also interested in re-visiting portable game development. In 2009, the studio released Infinite Space, a sci-fi role-playing game for the Nintendo DS, in partnership with Sega. Inaba says that the studio is also interested in developing for its successor, the Nintendo 3DS.

“We are very interested in the Nintendo 3DS as a platform,” Inaba revealed. “I view 3DS as a proper, straightforward evolution from a platform that has had huge success. Being able to view stereoscopic 3D with the naked eye is a great innovation, but very straightforward, so I’m very interested in it.”

However, he clarified, no Nintendo 3DS titles are in development at PlatinumGames at present, as the studio has a number of other projects in in the works and is unable to fund a 3DS game by themselves. “But I’m very positive on it,” Inaba added.

Miyamoto working on a “fantastic project” for Wii U

GoNintendo harvested a couple of snippets from Fils-Aime’s appearance on GTTV today, including news that Zelda, Mario, Pikmin and Petz creator Shigeru Miyamoto is working on a “fantastic project”.

Donkey Kong Returns and Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios and Nintendo EAD are also working on secret projects which Fils-Aime described as fantastic.

The executive said we’ll probably hear about these new games at E3 2012, assuming they are far enough along, and that several major first party titles are in the works.

Fils-Aime also re-confirmed Bayonetta as a Wii U exclusive, and that Nintendo is publishing the game worldwide.

Level-5 International America opens ‘Blackbox’ teaser site
Level-5's U.S. branch is teasing something.
Image

Level-5 International America, the U.S. branch of the Fukuoka-based Ni no Kuni developer Level-5, is teasing something.

The publisher opened a
teaser site today for something called Blackbox. The page shows a spinning version of the still, black cube captured above.

What could it be? Guild 01 or Little Battlers eXperience localizations? Professor Layton? Or something entirely new? Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino did say the studio would create original content for the U.S., after all.

^pero hindi ba the main reason naman na nagkakaroon ng piracy is because of region locking? Back then, people used to mod their PS1 and PS2s in order to remove region locking. Playing pirated games was an unfortunate side effect.

Rumour: GameCube Coming to Wii U Virtual Console

The Wii U eShop is still a mystery, to the extent that we're assuming that it'll be branded as "eShop" on the basis of new pre-paid funding cards spotted in North America. Another mystery is the Virtual Console, as we've only been introduced to new download titles scheduled for the launch period, with few clues as to whether there'll even be a new retro games catalogue on the system.

Of course, Wii went as far as to bring us Nintendo 64 games, while its original model could play GameCube discs. Wii U will play Wii discs, so good old-fashioned logic suggests that GameCube's back-catalogue will be available for download. We'd be astonished, frankly, if the 'Cube didn't appear in download form, with Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime recently saying that he'd love to see GameCube games on a Wii U Virtual Console, before stating that he had nothing to announce and, probably, winking with a knowing look. We're so keen to see it happen that we've given our own take on the future of GameCube on Wii U, with hopes for HD remakes as well as downloadable classics.

The inevitability of this — as it seems to us — is potentially reinforced in the latest issue of Retro Gamer, the monthly UK magazine run by Imagine, one of the largest publishing groups in the country. In a feature highlighting Nintendo's return to classic franchises, the article states the following in a very matter-of-fact way.

Backwards compatibility with Wii will be included but you'll no longer be able to play GameCube titles. They'll be on the Virtual Console store instead.

Has the team behind Retro Gamer let slip on a secret shared by Nintendo, or is it making an educated guess? As part of a major publishing group it could be the former, or it may just be assuming what we all expect to happen. We're going to be optimistic and hope it's true, and you can check out the article in question below.

So, are you keen to have some GameCube goodness on Wii U, or is it not a big priority for you on the new system?
