Yup hdr din siya but doesnt have wide color gamut which is going to be important for hdr content (the lg or the samsung ones i mentioned above are the same). the triluminous display really provides better colors needed for a better hdr experience.

That said, x8000d doesnt have the most premium hdr implementaion out there (compared to flagship models) but trumps the hdr even in the uh7700 because of the better range of colors. Ive seen hdr in about 4 games, and it really helps the experience (but wont blow you away - at least not yet).

My advice, hdr doesnt really matter at this point. Theres not enough content out there anyway. Go for the bigger tv that fits your budget.

Yung samsung 49 ku6000 or sony 49 x7000d okay na yun. Both are a significant upgrade over 2015 models without breaking the bank.

January ang CES, so around march magkakaron bago models. :)

Always pays to wait, especially sa teansition period na ito ng tech, but right now, the budget models provide good value din.

You have a bunch of options, hardware stores like Ace or True Value should have generic wall mounts (i can't speak to their quality). TV appliance stores usually sell them too (if lucky baka free pa). Then you can check online, marami nag bebenta ng wall mounts na di ginagamit.

Nice. Some things to consider before you really decide to buy:

1. Make sure that the set you buy doesn't have any clouding/bleed issues
2. If you want something bigger at the same price, but with a bit inferior HDR, picture quality, color representation, and input lag, the LF 49 UH7700 is around 31k na rin. I'd choose the x8000 over the UH7700, but for the price, the UH7700 is decent din. Yun lang, it will come with some trade-offs. Main advantage ng UH7700 is the viewing angles since IPS siya, but with worse blacks, and the other caveats i mentioned above.

Yun lang, enjoy! I've done a lot of research and I think at this price point, walang tatalo sa X8000d. It's about as close you can get to a true hdr experience without breaking the bank.

I think you picked the right one. The 13k difference isnt worth the extra 6 inches (if you want a 49 inch one id recommend the samsung 49 ku6300 which sells for 31k now - it has amazing pq and excellent blacks and contrast but is inferior in terms of color accuracy and hdr).

Enjoy the tv!

^
Dont forget the rather low 60hz refresh rate.
This is the unit i have but im still satisfied with it.
But i would take this over bad display lag anyday.
Wouldve gotten a sony this year again, unfortunately 4k models this year dont quite put out as good as the previous years full hd models as far as display lag is concerned.

^ You're right, but the Sony X8000D is fine in terms of input lag and actually has an advantage over the more expensive 2016 models which came out earlier in the year. The samsung sets definitely have better input lag and deeper blacks, and contrast for sure, which makes it a great set. The x8000d carries the 33 ms input lag in both 4k sdr and hdr which is more than fine for gaming.

Reason I chose the x8000d is the availability of the wide color gamut, and the 10 bit panel which provides a better hdr experience, and more accurate colors (but that's just me -- I saw the ku6300 in my lola's house and it is really impressive). However, in terms of input lag, contrasts, and deeper blacks the samsung ku6300 definitely wins out. Both are definitely great sets, and it comes down to preference. At 31k for the 49 inch model, that's a hell of a deal though and would recommend it over the Sony X8000d if you have a preference for size, input lag, and the deep blacks which are really impressive.

I'll probably upgrade in about 2 years anyway  I would have rather bought the 55ks7000 but it was too expensive, and is still edge lit led, so I'm waiting for more affordable HDR 1000 sets which have better local dimming, and sets that can handle dynamic metadata for hdr before I sink in a significant amount of cash.

Well nag-overspend yung family namin for Christmas hahaha.

So nag-YOLO na lang ako and tried applying for the AEON credit thing. And now nasa room ko na sya

Pero so far I'm liking what I'm seeing.

^ you have to turn on the settings sa hdmi inputs for hdr to be enabled. You have to connect the ps4 to hdmi 2 or 3 and turn on hdmi enhanced mode for hdr to work.

Also you will need to tweak some settings to get hdr to really shine. Brightness should be max, and tweak other settings like contrast and color based on your preference.
