6 days in Sapporo and 4 days sa Tokyo. Katulad mo, mas gusto ko bumisita sa nature, parks and temple kesa sa city spots ng Tokyo.OnceAnAngeL wrote:Mas nagustuhan ko pa yang mga parks and temples kesa sa disney sea, Akihabara, etc.

On my last trip dumaan kami sa Osaka on our way to Kyoto. Visited Osaka Castle, Osaka Aquarium and Shitenno-ji. I wanna go back to Osaka and to walk on the infamous Tobita Shinchi.

I firmly believe that if you can travel to Singapore then probably you can afford Japan. Cost of living isn't far off with Singapore.renegadespit wrote:Guys please give me an idea how much it will cost me to go in Japan from Manila and back. Thanks so much in advance.
Anyway here are some cost:
Tickets: $400 economy class on a peak season, probably $250-300 on promotional sale.
Accomodations: Since there are tons of foreigners that travel to Japan. There are tons of options for accommodations. Probably the cheapest is to go for capsule hotel, which gonna cost you around $20-25/night. Hostel will probably cost you around $30-45/night. While 3 star hotel pricing varies depending on the location. But expect the pricing to be around $60-80. Alternatively, you can rent an apartment. Prices varies depending on the location and the size of the apartment. This requires somebody from Japan to speak to the owners.
Transportation: Most people would believe that it's the food that will eat most of your budget. But it's really the transportation. Especially if you plan on traveling outside of Tokyo. A one way trip to Kyoto from Tokyo will cost you ¥13,700 ($160). And navigating through the numerous subway lines, you bound to make some mistake along the way. I recommend getting a JR pass, it's only available to foreigners purchasable outside of Japan. You'll save a ton of money by traveling to JR lines for free. This is useful, when going out of Tokyo. There are tons of places to visit outside of Tokyo, Mt. Fuji and Kawagoe to name a few. For more info on JR pass. Please refer to this link.
https://www.japan-rail-pass.com/
Food: Expenses for food can be manageable. Eating in a convenience store will cost you around ¥300-500. You probably spend the same eating a Western fastfood joints like Mcdonald's or KFC. While eating at Japanese fast food joint like Yoshinoya and other similar joints like Ten-ya, Mos Burger, Coco Ichiban Curry, Sukiya, First Kitchen and etc. will cost you as low as ¥700-1,500. Depending how big is your meal set is. Authentic food like Ramen will cost you around ¥1,000-1,500. Sushi sets at Tsukiji Market cost around ¥2,000-3,500. But some items like Sukiyaki cost as low as ¥4,000, but you could be spending as high as ¥20,000 (no kidding it happen to my dad) depending on what grade of beef you purchase.
If you want convert these prices to Peso, just multiply the Yen amount by 0.40 to get the pesos equivalent.

I recommend homestay too if you're traveling alone. At least for your very first trip, you need people to guide you to places. The Japanese family you're living with homestay will be welcome to show you around.skp_16 wrote:Kung mag-isa ka lang, try couchsurfing and/or homestay.
But if you're a bit more adventurous then internet connection is needed. You can actually purchase sim cards that offers data only services in the airport. But I like to have my calls available in case of emergency. So I prefer to rent wifi. Here's what I rented last month.

Navigating to Tokyo subway will make you confuse at first. Just look at this map.
Anyway, the easiest way for you to navigate is to use Tokyo subway app. Just put where you are and where your destination would be
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... navi&hl=en
The link I've posted is for Tokyo Metro app. This is bad if you're using JR pass. Why? Because there are 3 companies that are in the subway business. They are Japan-Rail (JR), Tokyo Metro and Toei. Obviously the app is gonna guide you using Tokyo Metro lines. Obviously you want to use JR lines for your pass. Just use the app in conjunction with subway map (which is free in all airports and hotels). After a day or two, you can easily navigate the subway with map only.
If you want more information. Feel free to ask me anything. Currently I'm planning my 3rd trip to Japan.

Ganda nung Harry Potter na ride sa Universal Studio! Mas maganda siya sobra compare sa Transformers(Singapore) and Spiderman. Worth it yung pag pila ng almost 2 Hours. Nagka problem nung unang ride namin.
