he news came out of nowhere, shocking everyone in the NBA world, including even LeBron James, who according to Windhorst's report, was "blindsided" by the news. Via ESPN:
Kyrie Irving is ready to end his run with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as league sources told ESPN that the guard has asked the team to trade him.
James was informed of Irving's request and was blindsided and disappointed, sources said. Other members of the team have learned of Irving's intentions in recent days as well.
Apperently, Irving no longer wants to play with LeBron anymore, as he wants to go somewhere else where he can be a "focal point."
The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to go play in a situation where he can be a more focal point and no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.
This news brings new meaning to Kyrie's comments the other day, when he said that the Cavaliers were in a "peculiar place." If they weren't then, well they certainly are now.
Now, the Cavaliers must deal with the unenviable (and difficult) task of figuring out a deal that makes sense for both themselves and Irving.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the San Antonio Spurs are one of Irving's preferred destinations, with Chris Haynes adding Minnesota, New York and Miami.

if isusum up.. lebron shared the limelight with kyrie.. he has no issue with kyrie taking the lead.. kyrie could have outscored lebron sa finals if iniwasan lang ni kyrie yung mga mahihirap na tira.. and after ng finals sabi pa i kyrie na he loved partnering with lebron.. and that lebron always got his back and he's the kind of teammate he'd love to go to a "war" with..

no offense bro pero ikaw lang kilala ko na parang iniexpect na hindi pagbibigyan ng cavs request ni kyrie.. i believe they're just waiting for a deal na best for the team.. ok sana si lillard.. pero sana makakuha ng athletic big man (porzingis) and a good wing defender.. not sure din why they signed rose.. he suffered a season ending knee injury just last season.. pero ok na din since 2.1M lang nila siya nakuha.. pero baka 8mins to 12mins lang siya paglaruin and si calderon or felder talaga maging primary pointguard.. and sana i keep na nila si kevin love.. daming tiniis na criticism and trade rumor ni love but sacrificed and embraced his role as the third option.. makakapag retool na siguro ng maayos ang cavs by trading kyrie.. thompson.. and shumpert..
