depends on what exactly you're looking for. But in general, any place is ok to shop in sg. kahit yung mga malls located at almost every mrt station that you find pwede na. Ok naman ang products na binebenta kasi mga orig naman, halos lahat naman dyan legit kahit dun pa sa mga chain stores like courts, challenger, harvey norman, best - medyo warning nga lang kasi minsan aggresive ang mga sellers, yung tipong magtatanong ka lang ng availability ng isang item tapos bigla na lang ssbihin na "give me the payment first" tapos ipapalabas syo yung pera mo bago iabot yung item sayo so you need to watch out for that, albeit, does not happen often.

since weekend lang kayo nasa sg at malamang kulang oras nyo mag ikot i would highly recommended ko ang FUNAN just near outside city hall mrt station. isa lang yan sa buong sg so madali na hanapin sa mapa. reason for recommending it is that madami ka pagpipilian sa place n yan especially gadgets. Isang maghapon lang kayo mag ikot dyan mkakabili na kayo ng mga gusto nyo.

avoid ALL stores at lucky plaza and sim lim at all cost. these two places are notorious for cheating their consumers, dami na reklamo sa mga lugar n yan, kahit mga singaporean mismo nagogoyo din dyan.

last but not the least, keep your resibos from all your item purchases bec tourists can claim 7% GST refunds at the airport - after you pass through the immigration officer, tanong k n lang sa mga personnel dun sa airport on where to find the gst counter.

for electronics, yes, you can almost find everything in Funan.

RE: Sim Lim Square, hindi ka naman maloloko dito if alam mo talaga bibilhin mo, this is like the Gilmore of Singapore, andito kasi yung mga PC parts na tingi tingi.

RE: Adidas Nike etc, same price, pero mas madaming choices.

BTW if you're going to buy gaming goods, sa Qisahn ka mamili.. it's located in Far East Shopping Centre

for the normal ezlink card hindi yata pero they got this singapore tourist pass that i never tried before (check here: http://www.thesingaporetouristpass.com.sg/), pag may relative kasi ako n ppunta yung normal na adult ezlink lang binibili ko for them.

sports goods are very easy to find in sg, nagkalat mga yan. may place where you can find them cheaper and its called queensway mall in queenstown (west side to ng sg), dun madami at mura- parang cash & carry sa makati or cartimar nung araw. pero i suggest get in official retailers n lang din.

as for sim lim square, yes its true hindi ka maloloko kung alam ko kung san ka titingin, specifically iwasan mo yung 1st to 3rd floor stores pero since tourist kayo, im sure you wouldnt be able to tell din. And just like what i said, dahil kulang oras nyo, sa funan pa lang solve na kayo.

wag n rin kayo mag atubili mamili ng tsokolate sa sg, mas mura pa mga chocolates sa mga sm.

thanks for the tip, I looked at the SG Tourist pass, it's $30 for 3 days, unlimited bus/mrt, is this better?

yup, its definitely better than the normal ezlink lalo na kung may nakahanda na kayong itinerary ng papasyalan. kasi when you buy the normal ezlink its S$15 na tapos may laman n sya S$7 yata. Eh ang charges ng lahat ng transpo sa sg depende sa distansya, pag mas malayo mas magastos.

normally buses are cheaper pero most of the time malamang baka mag taxi or mrt n lang kayo. Honestly, if you got enough budget naman at konti lang papasyalan nyo mag taxi n lang kayo to get around, mabilis pa byahe since maliit lang ang sg at tipid pa oras nyo - hindi pa nagtataga ang mga drayber dun.

if you really wanna go around sightseeing the famous locations in sg ng isang byahe lang, this might help: http://www.ducktours.com.sg/sp.php -- nasubukan namin to once and ok naman so far. :2thumbs:

Meron at live telecast na parang PPV shown over local channel via starhub. If I remember correctly, CH.02 yun kasi yun yung sports channel ng provider na yun. And yes, it's free without any commercial break. :2thumbs: By the time the fight starts sa pinas, tapos na ang laban dun sa napapanood namin dati sa SG.

Ewan ko lang kung libre pa rin this time around kasi sobra ang hype na dala ng upcoming bout.

last time i was there wala akong alam na specific video stores sa mga malls along orchard. But for sure meron yan lalo pa't madami nang nagbubukasan na malls sa orchard. If she got the time pwede nya isa-isahin yung mga malls dun tapos tanong na lang sa customer service desk to show her the way - engkaso yung pinapahanap mong video ang walang kasiguraduhan kung merong stock. If it's any consolation, nandun sa orchard mismo yung pinaka-cheap na game retail store sa buong SG na alam ko - check this site: qisahn.com. Don't worry legit yan, i used to buy my games with them alot before.

BTW, tell your mom to avoid shopping in lucky plaza for gadgets at all cost. Pwede dun for small souvenirs lang pero wag na wag sya bibili ng mga mamahaling gamit dun.
