Resident Evil 2 Remake Gameplay Details Unconfirmed
As ever, though, take the below with a life-endangering shovel of salt.
1. According to the post, Resident Evil 2 Remake gameplay will be from an over-the-shoulder perspective, (a previous leak mentioned this also) taking cues from both Revelations 2 and Resident Evil 4 and you’ll be able to move whilst shooting albeit with no crouching. Both fixed camera angles and first-person were tested by the team but didn’t work.
2. The iconic Raccoon City Police Department building has been vastly redesigned as has the city. We’d expect there’ll be more to do in the latter, definitely.
3. The ‘Zapping System’ is no more, instead there’s two campaigns; as a result, however, Leon and Claire cross paths more.
4. The sewer gator is no more – the fire extinguisher can remain on the wall for now.
5. Sherry is still playable but will be able to defend herself more, much like Natalia in Revelations 2.
6. Ada’s section(s) have been expanded (as expected) and she’ll have additional new weaponry.
7. No 4th Survivor. Perhaps could be DLC.
8. The focus is still on horror and will be like Resident Evil 7 in terms of difficulty – with auto-saving on Normal (boo!) and none on Hard.
9. Costumes will be a heavy focus post-launch, with Elza from Resident Evil 1.5 reportedly being an alternative costume for Claire, and Leon having his getup from the scraped game, too.
