They don't even had an idea that our country and some of it's culture are already being portrayed in video games long time ago.
Batangas has been a battlefield in PSX title, Front Mission 3. It even has two temporary playable characters, a bratty girl and her servant piloting a wanzer/mecha. Batangas/Tagaytay was even blown-up Hiroshima-style in that game.
How about Medal of Honor in PSX too? Where Dr.Jose Rizal is a secret character. When he dies, he'll say "Mi Ultimo Adios".
Or Talim in Soul Caliber 2? They don't even know that too.
Oh yeah, there was no social media back then..
Let's say these critics found out that Batangas appearance in FM3 or Jose Rizal in MoH, Talim in SC2 today, they can't even do a thing to sue or criticize the game's developer Squaresoft, EA & Namco. All these "hypo-critics" (Hypocrites-Critics) can do is bark like dogs.
Media here is just sensationalizing the news to jump into the bandwagon. Critics are overly sensitive (balat-sibuyas).
This thing their doing? They're just helping promoting the game without realizing it.
And Namco-Bandai along with Tekken fans are happy about it because good or bad publicity is still publicity. Free Publicity to be exact.
In the end it's just a game... WTF the local media and critics are thinking?
Do they really know the meaning of "Loosely Based"?
That guy in NCCA? I'm sure 100% he doesn't even play video games. Maybe his kids but he doesn't have a single bit of appreciation or understanding how game is being made. And it's not easy and not cheap to begin with. Does he think a game company like Namco didn't made any research?
There are other pressing matters in our country NCCA should be focusing on rather than give comment on this not so important lifestyle news like video game. We should all be proud and thankful that our culture and heritage are being represented in a game. A world famous video game.
I'll be much happier if there's a game that will contain characters that will be loosely based on Bong, Jinggoy, Napoles, Binay and corrupt officials we have here. Happy to shower bullets on those characters..
