i tried to play a movie then it just shuts down followed by 3 beeps then blinking red light.
I researched and according to what i've read this is probably the YLOD.
Is there anyway I can fix it? or is it even possible that it isn't the YLOD?
The problem is with my DLC and the disc inside, how will i get those back?
THanks!
problem with my ps3

I believe if you remove it from your PS3 unit, you can still salvage the content. I upgraded to a bigger hard drive before and it cost a lot of $$$ because I had to buy an external hard drive to back my 60gb and a newer 250gb laptop hard drive as replacement.
Guys, correct me if I'm wrong... but what will basically happen is:
You buy a new unit.
You replace the new unit's HDD with your 60gb.
You back up your 60gb to an External HDD, obviously bigger than 60gb.
Then put the new unit's HDD.
Restore the content from the External HDD.
Seems hard and long if you read it on paper but it's actually easy to do. You can search YouTube to see how to get your fat's HDD.

Unfortunately, this will not work since the new ps3 will format the 60gb hdd once you put it in. As for the DLCs naman they can be redownloaded off your PSN account, and to remove a stuck disc from a broken ps3:XPeak wrote:I believe if you remove it from your PS3 unit, you can still salvage the content. 1. Turn off the main power switch at the back
2. Hold the eject button
3. While still holding the eject button, turn on the ps3 from the back power switch.
4. The fan will be loud but that's fine. Just wait for the disc to come out.
Hope this helps!
